I'm currently not accepting new clients - please find an appropriately qualified counsellor by searching in www.bacpregister.org.uk. I can also highly recommend the Tavistock Center for Couple Relationships - www.tccr.org.uk
Hello and welcome to my page!
I've been a relationship counsellor for over 15 years having gained a BACP accredited Post Graduate Diploma from the University of Essex/ London Marriage Guidance (integrated into the Tavistock Centre for Couple Relationships). I consider myself fortunate and privileged to be working in field that helps couples/individuals work out how they can live with greater levels of understanding of themselves and each other - this understanding can lead to a significant drop in conflict, stress/anxiety and feelings of hopelessness/helplessness within oneself and also in the relationship .
What happens after first contact?
Many of my clients tell me the hardest part of counselling (individual or couples) can be making the first contact. One can feel out of control and caught up in the chaos of emotions and it seems impossible that there is a way out. Knowing what happens after first contact may help.
After a phone chat you would come to my practice for an assessment where we explore more deeply the current situation and how I might be able to help you. If we agree that we can work together, we would make an arrangement to see each other weekly for a set time or open ended. If I think you would be better being referred to another type of counselling then I will help you find the right counsellor, for me the focus is on you getting the right help from the right person.
There is no charge for the assessment session.
I Can Help
Over the years I have counselled heterosexual and LGBT couples and individuals who have come with a variety of issues to explore: Recently divorced/separated, an inability to maintain lasting relationships, anxiety, infidelity, simply growing apart, debt, death, addictions, sexual abuse, sexual orientation, promiscuity, integrating step children into a second marriage/relationship, infertility, childhood trauma.
Recent technology trends and connectivity have allowed me to expand my Skype counselling offering to clients all over the globe, this is particularly useful for UK clients who are working abroad and find navigating the counselling/therapy systems in their country of residence difficult. If you think this is something that you would like to explore please get in touch.
